History in the walls. Life in the bar.
An old pub with
a new chapter.
Ye Olde Red Horse is a 15th-century building and one of Evesham’s best-known timber-framed pubs.
Part of Evesham
Standing on Vine Street for centuries.
The pub occupies a prominent corner opposite the Almonry, with heavy oak beams, low ceilings and layers of character that cannot be manufactured. It has long been described locally as a coaching inn, although the surviving evidence does not prove every part of that tradition.
Reopened April 2026
Brought back to life.
Josh Matheson and JM Pubs took on the Red Horse to restore what a proper town pub should do: serve good drinks, feed people well, give local talent a stage and make strangers feel comfortable walking through the door.
This is not a museum piece. It is a working community pub, full of conversation, dogs, music, quizzes, regulars and visitors. The building’s history matters because people are still making memories inside it.
Independent hospitality
Run by people who care.
The team combines the standards of an experienced operator with the personality of an independent local. Whether you are here for a quick pint, Sunday lunch, open mic or a few nights in Evesham, you should receive the same thing: a straightforward, generous welcome.
